Home stinky home

There’s something about arriving safely in your own front yard — something about the smell of home compared to everywhere else — that just puts a person at ease.

And there’s something about opening the door to a house that’s been sealed for 5 solid days while it baked in the summer sun that makes you happy to sit in the yard and relax.

Whew! I’m glad that we took the trash out before we left, that’s for sure.

Home again, home again, jiggidy jog

I have to say goodbye to the ocean today. We’re going home in just an hour or so — right after we eat breakfast. I’m tan and burnt and still occasionally coughing. I’ve had such a fill of seafood that I can’t stand the thought of it. (The only night we didn’t partake was the night we had pizza and Hershey’s ice cream. No, I didn’t know Hershey made ice cream either.)

Unless dire catastrophe, the next post will be from Pennsylvania.

Oh, and, comic later today, maybe.

More beach for you!

It was sunny today and we spent hours on the beach. Here are some pics for you.

beach!  beach!

Some girls in the chunk of beach next to ours were throwing cheese puffs to the seagulls, so the gulls were hanging around being goofy quite a bit. And in the second pic, you can see a really big ship, probably a aircraft carrier.

Let’s play "good news – bad news"!

Good news: Yesterday, my new scanner came!
Bad news: Yesterday evening, this cold/flu/ugly thing I’ve been fighting got the best of me. I was running a fever (99.7), had a horrible sore throat, and was totally exhausted and didn’t get my scanner set up!
Good news: This morning, my fever’s (almost) broken! (98.8)
Bad news: I slept until 9:15 and don’t have time to set up my scanner. Oh, and I’ve lost my voice. (Okay, some of you might count that in the good news).
Good news: I’m feeling better, so I’ll still be able to go to the beach tomorrow!
Bad news: I have to get all the stuff together for tomorrow to go, so I probably won’t have time to get a comic together tonight.
Good news: The Mariott has high speed internet access.
Bad news: I’m not dragging my scanner down there.

In other, shorter, words, comic schedule still iffy, but I’ll have *something* up even if it’s lame.
