Because we’re always what our situations hand us…
My sister had a concert that went rough tonight, strings sliding out of tune, missing orchestra members, just not a good time.
A man I knew in passing who couldn’t afford a lung transplant because his insurance wouldn’t cover it died this morning. And, y’know, even though I try not to get attached to every single person I meet on the lists, it bothers me.
A man whose writings I respect is feeling (rightfully so) attacked for writing what he feels like writing about on his own blog – which in this case, is his comic. So he’s stopped writing about his comic on his blog because he doesn’t feel comfortable doing it. If I did that, there’d be almost nothing on here. But I’ve pulled posts of this site myself, so I feel his pain.
I spent the entire day running around like a nut trying to do what was right, and I think I pissed some people off for doing so. I’m beyond caring at this point. Let them think of me what they want; I don’t have any regrets.
My husband’s asleep, my dog is snoring, and I’m waffling between the desire to work out and the desire to kill someone.
(In the novel. Calm down. Sheesh.)
…it’s either sadness or euphoria.
Home stinky home
There’s something about arriving safely in your own front yard — something about the smell of home compared to everywhere else — that just puts a person at ease.
And there’s something about opening the door to a house that’s been sealed for 5 solid days while it baked in the summer sun that makes you happy to sit in the yard and relax.
Whew! I’m glad that we took the trash out before we left, that’s for sure.
Post Streak Continues
I’m home from work, finally, and relaxing for just a few minutes. I have many bugs to squash in the program for class, but wanted to continue my streak of posting. Plus dinner to cook. Oh, and I think I need to sleep, since I didn’t get to bed until after 1 this morning.
Anyway, it was a good day. Not much to report. I did get a chance to read some new comics, and I’ll definitely be adding Ornery Boy, Dicebox, and Green: Wicked Wicked Ways to the list.
The Phillies are winning and dinner’s in progress. A good night!
Rose Zen
My roses are blooming! I thought I’d share this moment of roses with you:
Now, off to get ready for work.
Come and get it!
This doesn’t happen often…usually, the little runt is trying to herd me around the kitchen while I cook.
I’m telling you, that mutt’s crazy
Editor’s Note 6/25/05: This strip was really the one that convinced me that, should I decide to draw comics, I could find inspiration anywhere. As such, it’s really the first of the Get Outta My Head strips, even though it was just considered a sketch at the time.
