Replaced the mailbox. Dug out the hydrangea bush. Built up the brick wall around the garden to keep wonder-dog out. Cleaned the kitchen (except the floor) and ran the dishwasher twice. Paid all the bills through mid-October, posted a comic into the archive, and started the processes necessary to replace the thermostat on the heater. Completed three loads of laundry.
Didn’t have a lot of down time. I have a three-day weekend at the other end of this week, though, so maybe I’ll finally get some rest then. I was supposed to go to the Boston-ish area next weekend to see my friend Mandine and her family, but Nighthawk’s not feeling all that great and it’s a long drive both there and back, so I had to cancel.
Anyway, it’s almost Monday and I’m still running laundry. Work will be theoretically quieter this week, so maybe I won’t be quite as exhausted. Here’s hoping.
One other thing. If the Phillies now drop the next 8 and don’t make it into the playoffs at all (they’re currently 2 back from the wildcard and 4 or 5 back from the division), it’s my fault. I bought tickets to go see them in the NLDS and that guarantees that they’ll never get there. It’s just this amazing gift I have.
Point a: I did a brain dump / cleanout of my bookmarks for comic production and stuck everything in the new “tools for drawing” tools for comics page you see over there to the right left. Take a gander if you’re interested. I’ll probably add to it regularly because even right now I know there’s stuff I forgot to put on there.
Point b: Comic art quality’s about to take a drop again. Remember back in March when I’d just finished the Longest Night of the Summer strips and I announced an art shift because it was just taking too damn long to make each strip? Well, I’m at that point again — I need to build the buffer back up, and not just with IoI comics. So in order to produce comics slightly faster we’re going to take a planned quality hit.
Someday when I’m rich and famous I’ll go back and redraw them to look nicer. Don’t hold your breath until that occurs.
Thanks to Jzimbert for pointing out I don’t know my right from my left after midnight

The Webcomic Hurricane Relief Telethon Book is now available. If you’d like to be one of the lucky people to own the first book containing a printed Get Outta My Head comic, here’s your chance. I’m told it’s on page 42 :)
My favorite poem of the day is An Attempt at Unrhymed Verse, by Wendy Cope.
The line about the gherkin is quite nice.
I’ve been training at work, and my throat is very sore from talking so much. One more day of training to go, but not until Friday.
I’m way behind in about six things, but I’m actually ahead on the comic buffer — Saturday and Tuesday are uploaded (GOMH and IOI respectively) and I’m working on the following Saturday (more IOI, but it’s a god one, and it’ll give me time to plan GOMH) so that should be stable at least for the next week. Wow. Stable. That’s kind of nice.
