Do you get the feeling Lila’s gotten calls like these before?
…
Marin would look more consistent if I drew all 3 of her in one day instead of over the course of two weeks.

As long as i’m posting like a madwoman today, here’s a link to a fun set of comments on Websnark. What made it especially fun was siwangmu’s poetry.
See, we were having a discussion on words and fun words to say and of course I mentioned my favorite words are moose, bucket, thusly, and weasel. Somehow we got on a discussion of poetry which resulted in a sestina of weird words for 32_footsteps by siwangmu, as well as a limerick for me:
There once was a moose from Nantucket
who wanted to live in a bucket
but he soon realized
it was more weasel-sized
and, thusly defeated, said “F*** it.”
i don’t think one could write a better poem for my favorite words :)
In Dalton Sharp’s livejournal, he posted a nifty drawing that requested that those who read it respond by drawing what they’d like to do with him.
my response is thusly:
Dalton’s running a pretty darned cool comic / sequential art piece in his livejournal – make sure to check it out.
comic tomorrow may be late – 1.5 of 3 panels complete, picnic in 2 hours, fireworks at 10:00, currently: sinus headache the size of kentucky.
Saturday afternoon, Nighthawk and I dropped JessieDog off at our in-laws, then headed into the fine city of Reading for the wedding and reception of close friends Wayne and Pam at a mansion-turned-event-hall. It was gorgeous. The food was incredible. The happy couple are hands down the most romantic people I know. We had a great time, even in spite of a screw-up on my part making us so late that we missed the cermony. We ate and danced and sang and partied until well after two, and only got about four hours of sleep at the hotel before we returned for brunch. After helping everyone else pack up, we returned to the Gibsons to snag the puppy dog and then returned home.
I’m exhausted. Happy, certainly partied-out, but exhausted.
I spent some time working on stuff here this afternoon, and will be going to bed as soon as I’m done my dinner tonight. Tomorrow I need to work on my homework, as I’ve fallen behind – and this is not a good time to fall behind. Tomorrow evening is a picnic at Mike & Steen’s, then fireworks, then home. I suspect I’ll be sleeping in tomorrow ’cause I’m gonna need it.
I work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week, then my vacation starts and I don’t work again until the 18th. I’m going to need most of it for homework I suspect, but the rest will be day trips into the city to see the sights. I’m looking forward to it.
So here we are.
I’ve got all but 20 of the comics moved over into the new system, and I’m not going to move the blog posts from the last year over at all. (Well, except the ones I already moved.)
Navigation’s fairly straightforward – use the categories to the left to narrow down your viewing pleasure. (Want to see just the comics? Click “comics”. Just GOMH? Click “get outta my head”. Just the blog posts? click “ideas”. You get it.)
There’s a help link in the “pages” area that I’ll be glad to fill out as time goes on.
Archives read newest to oldest, just like the old one, which might take a little getting used to for the comics, but I’m sure it’ll work out.
If you prefer an RSS feed, make sure to check it out – it’s in that left nav thing. And one of my projects is to transcribe all the comics somehow so that the “search” will bring up searches against them as well.
Comments? Well, comments are my last big project to overtake – somehow this winter I hope to wire something into WordPress that will automatically create a forum thread when I post a new post, but that’s nowhere near even the beginning of development, forget the end.
My “to do” list:
In just under four weeks, I’ll have finished my last class at Penn State and completed my Master’s in Software Engineering. I’ll have freed up no less than six hours a week from a very busy schedule. I’ll have completed a goal that I set as an undergrad in 1999, when I decided that double-majoring in English and Computer Science wouldn’t allow me to graduate anytime that century. I’ll have time to actually *draw comics*. Amazing.
Until then, though, I have insanity on insanity to complete. Work, class, social engagements, more class, more work, more class. Hopefully the comics will stay on schedule, but the buffer is gone and it’s very touch-and-go.
