And now a quick break for some stupidity.

Posted on January 23, 2005 by kirabug
headline from cnn.com's inside politics section. poll: nation split on bush as uniter or divider. sketch: two crowds of people facing off, some carrying uniter signs and some carrying divider signs. both crowds yelling rant rant rant rant at each other. below them two people sitting around. first says if they can't agree on this doesn't that make him a divider by default? second says who cares? when's the eagles game on?

We’ll get back to the plot Tuesday. Jzimbert sent me this gem Saturday, and I couldn’t resist pointing it out — but I didn’t want to wait until March (which is where the current queue sits). Tuesday, we’ll get back to Lila and Cole and Daisy.

Whacko AOL Headlines III

Posted on January 15, 2005 by kirabug
title: Bad AOL headline montage 3: let's take 2 horrible events and mix them together! AOL headline reads Powell stunned by devastation, quote: never seen anything like this, next line pregnancy hoax suggestion. Sketch added of Powell talking to reporters, saying i've been in war and i've been through a number of hurricanes, tornados and other relief operations, but i have never seen anything like this. the power of the wave to destroy bridges, to destroy factories, to destroy homes, to destroy crops, to destroy everyon in its path, is amazing. Oh, and I admit I'm not actually pregnant, it's just a little holiday weight. crowd of reporters gasps at this confession.

Bad wave! No cookie!

Posted on January 11, 2005 by kirabug
Yahoo lead photo: a shot of a boat on dry land and a headline that reads: Massive Tsunami Feeding Program Announced. Commentary: Apparently, Yahoo felt left out because AOL was running all the idiot headlines. Added sketch, a wave with big eyes and eyebrows yelling Rawr! Feed me! Villagers (stick figures) reply But you already ate 150,000 people! Wave replies Raawr! Feed me! Villagers reply yessir!

Nighthawk spotted this one on his My Yahoo page Saturday. Can you imagine spending all that time writing an article on the relief efforts only to have some nut put a headline like this on your work?

I guess they’re still testing the emotion chips, then.

This was the first idiocy on the internet I knew I had to turn into a comic.

I took the screenshot that this is based on back in February of 2004. It’s been sitting in a bunch of files waiting to be processed.

Spiderman's one of my main tools for figuring out how to draw a person. For this, though, I cheated and traced photos of him I took with my camera.
