July 27th cannot come fast enough.

COMMENCE WHINING:
I’m up to my eyeballs in Javascript and PHP and MySQL on only six hours of sleep during my vacation!. Had Hershey’s chocolate and a cherry Coke for breakfast, which have kept the headaches at bay. Need to work on the yard, clean the house, etc. etc. etc. I could use a vacation from my vacation.

I have 15 days until this class – and my degree – are complete. I cannot wait.
WHINING COMPLETE (for now).

Weddings!

Saturday afternoon, Nighthawk and I dropped JessieDog off at our in-laws, then headed into the fine city of Reading for the wedding and reception of close friends Wayne and Pam at a mansion-turned-event-hall. It was gorgeous. The food was incredible. The happy couple are hands down the most romantic people I know. We had a great time, even in spite of a screw-up on my part making us so late that we missed the cermony. We ate and danced and sang and partied until well after two, and only got about four hours of sleep at the hotel before we returned for brunch. After helping everyone else pack up, we returned to the Gibsons to snag the puppy dog and then returned home.

I’m exhausted. Happy, certainly partied-out, but exhausted.

I spent some time working on stuff here this afternoon, and will be going to bed as soon as I’m done my dinner tonight. Tomorrow I need to work on my homework, as I’ve fallen behind – and this is not a good time to fall behind. Tomorrow evening is a picnic at Mike & Steen’s, then fireworks, then home. I suspect I’ll be sleeping in tomorrow ’cause I’m gonna need it.

I work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week, then my vacation starts and I don’t work again until the 18th. I’m going to need most of it for homework I suspect, but the rest will be day trips into the city to see the sights. I’m looking forward to it.

Whump!

yeah, this happened.

In just under four weeks, I’ll have finished my last class at Penn State and completed my Master’s in Software Engineering. I’ll have freed up no less than six hours a week from a very busy schedule. I’ll have completed a goal that I set as an undergrad in 1999, when I decided that double-majoring in English and Computer Science wouldn’t allow me to graduate anytime that century. I’ll have time to actually *draw comics*. Amazing.

Until then, though, I have insanity on insanity to complete. Work, class, social engagements, more class, more work, more class. Hopefully the comics will stay on schedule, but the buffer is gone and it’s very touch-and-go.

Urrgh.

It’s 4:50 am and I’ve been coding for class straight through since about 11:00 last night. I got everything I wanted to get working finished, but I still have a ton of work to do, and I have to go dress shopping in about 7 hours. Whee.

On the plus side, I learned a ton of Javascript, mySQL and PHP tonight. And if I didn’t feel like I’d been hit by a truck, I’d probably even feel *good* about that.

Yeah…. um….

I’m having one of those "can’t remember what I was going to post about" moments. It was probably going to be about how freakin’ tired I am. We have five weeks of class left and I have a thousand things to do and no time to do them. Every time something gets added to my list of things to do I can see another day of my vacation in July just evaporating.

I haven’t even looked at the buffer for the comic in a week and a half. Guess I’d better check that.

I’d like to go upstairs and go to sleep, but I have so much to do. Enough that I have to stop sitting here wondering what I was going to post about. Night.

Birthday Weekend Update

A quick review:

  • Awesome birthday party Saturday night, much good food, much good company.
  • Great time with my family Sunday night celebrating family birthdays and Father’s Day.
  • Work today, a long-ish day, but survivable.

Now:

  • Homework, then work on my super-secret project.
  • Changes to the Sites page to catch it up as well.

Tomorrow:

  • Off. Sleep. Maybe some drawing. Probably mostly homework.
