Gamasutra – How Killing People With My Dad Improved Our Relationship

For my family, it’s more often golf than first person shooters (which tend to make me queasy and tend to be too dark), but video games have been a part of them for a long time. I miss playing golf on the sega with my dad. In fact, I ought to find out if he can see it clearly on the DS Lite. Or maybe it’s time to get a Wii.

  1. Hah! Did you ever get those free 3½-inch floppies from Buick with the golf game on them? We played those a lot on my parent’s Macintosh Plus.

The story in the article is really neat. But I stink at the FPSes and my dad’s not interested, so…

  2. Nope, can’t say we ever got the free Buick golf games, but that sounds cool. I don’t think I could ever sell my dad on an FPS either, but a good golf or baseball game is right up his alley. In fact, I’m pretty sure he and I could play WiiSports Baseball until one of us had our arms fall off. Which probably wouldn’t take very long… ;)

  3. get a wii!! My mom really enjoyed bowling the other week when she was over.

(that was not the original sentence that I wrote. the original, while being factually correct, had incorrect and very disturing connotations.)
