…what are they thinking? RenFair implies Geeks implies Star Trek implies Klingons?
can’t klingons be period geeks too? he (she?) looks appropriately dressed.
Yes, but for the wrong period. He was obviously dressed for 24th century times, not 16th century times. And the girl that was with him (but who didn’t make the shot) was similarly dressed.
There was a time where there were as many Klingon/Vulcan/Battlestar Whatever Doohickey Pick Your Geekdom fans at the faire as there were period geeks, but I’ve noticed that the faire (which has more than tripled in size since we started to go 15 years ago) is significantly less geeky than it was. And the period geeks tend toward Pirates of the Caribbean more than, say, Mary Queen of Scots. It’s one of the reasons we’ve stopped going as often.
Don’t forget, people from the 23rd and 24th century are always traveling back in time. Granted, they usually end up around the 20th century, but statistically speaking, a few probably made it to medieval times.
Also, I’m sad that I would have to sit with the period geeks :-(

Wait, I’m confused. You’re sad that you’d have to sit with me?
Geek!
maybe he grabbed the wrong bag at baggage and there’s someone at a star trek convention dressed as a medieval lord. Or grabbed the wrong duffel from his own closet?
I’m totally a geek!
Heh, can you imagine having the kind of free time available to be both a Star Trek geek AND a period geek? I don’t think there are enough hours in the day.
